A moment in time, a smile, a tear, a groom seeing his bride arrive, hands held at the altar, that one little thing that nobody else notices. I fell in love with photography a long time ago and have had some form of camera for as long as I can remember!!
About three years ago a friend and I always said that we would do a photography course together. So, we both went and bought our fancy SLRs (Thanks Kevin Rudd!) and did a one day workshop at the Adelaide Zoo. This is unfortunately where our schooling stopped. Unfortunately, we never went further with it but still ALWAYS talked about it. My friend passed away in the middle of 2011 at 31 years of age. It sparked my desire to get things done and start living our dreams so I finally enrolled at photography school in October 2011. I learned that life is for living and I needed to do something to change my life because you never know when your time is up….
I am currently studying Certificate IV in Photoimaging with the intentions of going on to complete the Diploma. I have learned so much in the last 3 months with classes in relation to my technique, abilities and confidence. Photography is an art form and is not as easy as just “pointing and shooting”. We put a lot of hard work and money into our artform including equipment for the camera, computer equipment, editing time, research and education.
I shoot using a Sony Alpha and find them to be a really fantastic camera and it produces amazing colour! I am not part of the Nikon or Canon club at this stage but I am happy with being different – makes it more of a challenge! I will be buying a new Sony camera next time as well when the times comes to upgrade. For your special occasion I now come equipped with two sony alphas & if requested, a polaroid camera for instant photos on the day/night.
The more practice the better!!
I am under no illusions and do not profess to be a “professional photographer” I know I am far from that so hope to not step on any “pro photographer” toes… I just know that with continuing school, practice and passion I’ll get to a point where I am satisfied. I want to be in love with taking photos forever.
I am honest and upfront about my abilities. I dont believe in pretending to be experienced when it is clear that I am not. I am working at my own pace and developing my skills. Each shoot I do I am getting better and better. It is YOU who is making this happen!!
I know that I am just starting out in this vast world of photography. It is a hobby and one that I love. Hopefully, I can share some of this passion with you!
If you absolutely fall in love with one of my photos you see on this page and have to have without “the watermark” please feel free to contact me to discuss availability and price. I can imagine nothing better that seeing one of my pictures on frame on your wall.
