It is up to you to familiarise yourself with the way our pages run. Please take 5 minutes out of your day to read our rules. Once you are on our site, click the drop down menu that will give you access to our Help Desk, Current Garage Sale’s, tickets and our WHOot business Directory. Due to the size of our page and the level of admin, if you don’t follow the rules you will lose access to our walls. Head over to our website now you won’t believe your eyes: This site is for private trading only. You must be a current paid up directory member to use our sites under your page name.
TRADERS NOTE: We tick randomly in the feed so that admin know where we are up to. If your post is deleted, it is because it infringes our site or is posted to the wrong page. Any suspicious or fake profiles will be removed from our site as will offensive names. Similarly, you are not to advertise other pages on our site or trade via your page unless you are a paid up member of our WHOot directory. Otherwise you must trade in your legitamate personal profile. You must NOT interfere or leave comments that detract from our members sale.
You must NOT make commentary regarding price. You must not make any commentary that may hurt, embarrass or humiliate another person on our site. If you don’t like something, keep your negative comments to yourself otherwise you may offend admin and they will delete you. Remember, it’s nice to be nice and we want a friendly site. Once you are deleted it is very hard to regain access so keep negative opinions to yourself.
We will also state that it is entirely OUR RIGHT to deal with whoever we choose. If we find out that certain businesses do not have the correct ethics or they display dishonest or untrustworthy behaviour we will and have removed from our community the minute we are aware. We believe we have a duty of care to our community which includes ensuring that you deal with ONLY the most reputable and ethical of people and Adelaide Businesses. If you ever have a concern about any one that you are dealing with that is part of our directory we would ask you to alert us immediately so that we can take the necessary steps to protect our vast community.

Our site is friendly, community minded and we have ZERO TOLERANCE for bad behaviour
Any such behaviour will result in the deletion of your page and your profile. Please do not post items with links to Gumtree or Ebay or any other external sites as your post will be deleted. Also please do not use CONTINUOUS CAPITALS on our wall. This is SHOUTING and makes our wall look unfriendly. You must also not sell on behalf of banned profiles or engage in negative conversation about our site and admin or our members. ALL of the above will result in deletion:)
Please set your photos to public, ensure you can be messaged, tag yourself in photos or leave a comment on your item so that you receive notifications. Please check ‘others’ folder for messages that may go astray. Your settings must be user friendly for our members and that means ‘EVERYONE’ needs to be able to comment and ‘PUBLIC’ is what your photos need to be set to.
Pls note we do not message. We will not respond in regards to questions regarding blocked profiles. It is imperative that you recognise we invite you to join our page but it it not your right to be here. If we dislike the behaviour on our site, it is our right to exercise our discretion. This is our house and our rules and if you choose to stay and play please do so in the spirit of which it is intended. Our rules are designed to create a happy, safe, trading environment that is drama free and friendly. You may feel our rules are strict or unreasonable but they are required to keep things running well. If you dislike our rules there are plenty of other trading sites that you can utilise.
Garage Sale Golden Rules – Buyer Beware
1. All posts are to be placed on the APPROPRIATE page and we ask that you do not solicit our friends for other pages on our wall. Please only use 1 photo. Extra photos must be in an album so refer the HELPDESK on how to create one. If you post to the wrong page, your ad will be deleted without notice. It is up to you to learn our site outline otherwise you risk deletion. A list of what goes where is here 2. If you are selling clothing, accessories, shoes, bags, perfumes, jewellery and similar, you MUST put your items in Op Shop 3. All kiddy related items including clothing and toys MUST be placed in Tot Shop 4. We envisage that Garage Sale will have items such as whitegoods, cars, beds, furniture and more heavy duty items, anything that falls outside of the Tot Shop and Op Shop categories. We have also added a new page for sales and rentals and all things Real Estate. Please post toAdelaide Real Estate
Any cars/bikes/vans/trailers, spare parts and automotive MUST be uploaded to our new Trading Site under the MOTORS section. We will delete such from our site so please join our new website which is fun FREE and easy. Car owners please supply registration number with your car details 4a. **ALL items must have a set price. No bidding and No ‘make me an offer’ deals. Please provide a set price 4b. You will also be removed if you leave unnecessary comments on others items that are negative or harm their sale. If you are not interested, don’t comment please. The reason that we have 3 pages is that we don’t want our GARAGE SALE feed over run with baby clothing. We found that buyers complained and became bored until we addressed this, so we ask that you respect the set up and put your items in the right place.You are also allowed to post your missing animals on our Garage Sale page and we will add them to our missing pet album for you ..5. No animals, food, vitamins, supplements, baby formula, car seats, booster seats, alcohol, pornography, counterfeit items, illegal items, lottery tickets, sweepstakes, slot machines, copyright infringing materials including and not limited to chipped consoles, burnt games and R4 cards, Any weapons, weapon related items including and not limited to replica’s, firearms, firearm accessories, knives, crossbows, archery equipment and parts. And no offensive material or language is allowed on our page.6. You must not continually repost your item throughout the day. The same item can be reposted a maximum of once per cycle which is every 3 days and you must remove the item from the photo album before you repost. You must also not post the same items across the 3 pages as many of our friends are in all 3 shops and get extremely annoyed. 7. When you sell an item, please REMOVE photo from the photo album. We have received a lot of feedback that people are not keeping on top of their items by removing SOLD items, so we ask that you do this please.
8. Please ensure that your settings are set to accept messages on your items and that you make yourself accessible. Please check back in on your items, it is important that you get back to your buyers. A great way to get notifications is to tag yourself in the photo that you upload and click ‘like’ otherwise you will not receive notifications. 9. We keep items on our page for 3 days, mainly due to the heavy traffic that we experience. This keeps our page fresh and well maintained and keeps the buyers coming back. If your item is unsold, you are welcome to repost once it is deleted but that is the primary reason that the items are removed. Similarly if feedback is that you are not dealing with your buyers in a timely manner, we may remove your item as again, our friends get frustrated! 10. No abusive or unethical behaviour will be tolerated on our page.
This is a community page. We do not appreciate negative or nasty comments and we would prefer that if you feel the need to engage in such behaviour that you refrain from doing so on our pages. If we receive valid complaints about individuals, we reserve the right to remove you from our site without notice. 11. No items are to be purchased FREE or otherwise and resold on our page at a higher price. This is extremely disrespectful to the person who was generous in the first place. 11a. We understand that you may change your mind after you have agreed to sell or purchase but would ask that you get back to the buyer or seller in a timely fashion.
Please do not hide out and be sure to respond to emails. Similarly, don’t put people out and not show up. This will result in removal from our page as we do not want our friends to be inconvenienced or out of pocket in travelling expenses. Please ensure that you treat others as you wish to be treated. 12. This page is not to be hijacked by others. You are welcome to tell us about your business BUT in the appropriate forum and that is why we set up ADELAIDE SHOUTout for your business page. 13. If you love our page chances are you will enjoy our main page WHO ADELAIDE too. We would love your support so please scroll our page and view the side bar and join our other pages. We are developing a whole on line community and we would love you to be apart of it so why not come and join us here
14. Finally in order for this page to pump, we need your assistance in sharing our page. This is not just about numbers, it’s about new blood! The more people we have, the more things we can trade and that is the name of the game so if you haven’t already why not share our site by clicking the SHARE button on the bottom left. We understand that rules don’t always suit everyone, but we feel that those we have outlined are fair. Please understand that we have created this page for fun and interaction. We are not responsible for your money or the condition of your items or the result of your transactions with others. You should meet away from your home and keep your details personal. You must take responsibility for your own actions and again exercise extreme caution with those that you engage in dealing with. We have no control over this and cannot be expected to accept responsibility.
This page is merely a conduit for your trading. We also don’t recommend that you engage in payment schemes or put money into bank accounts without thoroughly receiving all details of the person you are dealing with and having addresses and phone numbers that you have investigated. This is a local Adelaide page so if you deal with Interstate or Overseas people you are at a lot more risk of tracking them down. We hope that the above gives you a clearer understanding of how our pages work.. Finally it is BUYER BEWARE! We cannot guarantee the integrity of those that you are dealing with. The people on this page are a combined effort of friends suggesting friends and so forth and we are not responsible for them, their items or actions. This page is purely a meeting place for you to showcase your items and get exposure that you would not be able to achieve otherwise. You are utilising the friend base of this page to make connections to sell or buy and all responsibility must remain with you. We strongly suggest you research your buyer or seller thoroughly.
