A NINE-year-old girl has escaped an abduction attempt at Murray Bridge. The girl was walking along Swanport Rd about 12.30pm yesterday when she was approached by a man in a red station wagon. She told police the man offered her a lift and, after refusing, he tried to grab her clothes. The girl managed to escape. The man was described as an older Caucasian man with shoulder-length, grey-brown straight hair and wearing a black singlet with a hole under the arm. He had a scar near his right eye, a tattoo of a woman on his right forearm and earrings. He spoke with a distinctive accent – possibly Scottish.
