Start by placing the glass jars on the plate or tray and half fill them with water. Then add 1 to 2 tablespoons of vinegar to each jar and stir in your chosen Kool-Aid or combination – the charts below will help you select a color or you can have fun mixing and matching to create your own!
How to Dye Yarn With Kool Aid In Microwave via Piper
Soak your yarn in warm water before dipping into the jars. As you can see from the photo above, you can also use a glass or Pyrex baking dish instead of glass jars.
Put one end of your skein of yarn into the Kool-Aid mix and leave the other hanging out (if your yarn is in a ball make sure you rewind it into a nice loose open skein). Microwave for around 5 minutes, stirring each minute.
Rinse the yarn in a little warm water and repeat for more colors.
