Yes, you heard right, there’s no need to knead! The Blogger’s hubby actually costed out this recipe and came in around 80 cents per loaf.
You’ll love the savings too! There’s really little better than a delicious, fluffy bread and with only 4 simple ingredients, how can you go wrong? If you are a novice, this is the perfect beginner recipe that is virtually fail proof!
All you need is flour, water, salt and yeast and you are ready to get baking! If you want to make a larger loaf with a thinner crust, the Blogger suggests doubling the amounts and adjusting your baking time. For those of you that would prefer to use whole wheat flour here’s what to do.
Substitute 3 cups of whole wheat for 3 cups of the all-purpose flour (3 cups whole wheat and 3 cups of unbleached flour for a total of 6 cups) and add 3 Tablespoons of molasses (optional). This will produce a slightly sweeter loaf of bread.
