At about 5am, a member of the public travelling in a taxi spotted his friend’s stolen car and followed it while alerting police.
At about 4am, the occupants of a Gulfview Heights residence returned home to find their house broken into and two cars stolen from their driveway.
Just after 5am, a friend of the victims rang to say he had seen the stolen white Nissan Skyline travelling on Kings Road at Paralowie and followed it for some distance to a service station on Salisbury Highway at Greenfields.
Police patrols swooped on the car at the service station and prevented it from driving away, however the two suspects fled on foot into Parafield Gardens.
Police are currently searching the Parafield Gardens area, utilising the helicopter and police dogs, for the suspects and the outstanding stolen car, a green Holden Barina, registration WTK027.
At about 7am, a suspect was arrested in the rear yard of a house on Ryans Road.
The 22-year old Port Broughton man was charged with illegal use, drive unlicensed, hinder police and unlawfully on premises. He also has an outstanding parole board warrant and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court tomorrow.
